Event Demo Workshops

During the 2 day massage championship, there will be a selection of workshops that will be conducted on both Saturday and Sunday of the event.



Each day, there will be a selection of four 45 minute workshops.  
This time, you will have the opportunity to attend ALL  workshops on each day.


We have kept the cost of attending each workshop only £15.00, so as to allow maximum benefit and participation for all those interested.

Workshop 1

How to Win a Massage Championship

Introduction
This workshop will look at the rules and judging criteria of the massage championship and explore areas which will help participants to gain the highest scores as well as areas where points are commonly lost.

Consider the various aspects of a massage competition that will help a participant to score the highest marks possible giving them the greatest chance of leaving with a medal.

Workshop 2:  Exploring Pain, a Biopsychosocial Approach to Client Care

Introduction
Working with clients who are in pain can be challenging, this workshop will explore the biopsychosocial approach to working with clients.  This model is currently seen as good practice as we move away from a biomechanical model.

Ergonomics for Effective Massage Practice.

Introduction
This workshop will explore the importance of body posture and mechanics and its importance for proper application of technique for effectivness for both the therapist and client.

This interactive workshop will explore the various aspects of a treatment that will make a therapist much more effective.  It will touch on specific aspects of the case history, examination, practitioner posture and the proper use of body applicators.
